It seems I owe our captain Ash Hutchinson an apology....

As is normally the case, I look through all the scorecards after a match, make notes of how many gross pars were carded and who carded them, along with how many gross birdies were carded and who carded these too.

 

Well it seems I may well have inadvertinately not transfered all the data from my notes into the last WAGS newsletter.  Now you will not have to be too eagle eyed to work out that maybe Ash had a rather good score on one hole?

 

You are quite correct if you guessed that Ash did indeed card a gross eagle.

It was on the Par 5, 492 yards, stroke index 2, 4th hole.  So with Ash carding a gross eagle 3 and with one shot for his handicap it became a nett albatross and for wait for it........  5 points!!

 

So Ash, my apologies for missing this wonderful achievement off the WAGS newsletter.  It seems the 5 points from this gross eagle, giving Ash a total of 41 points at Springwater was just enough to pip Martin Sheppard, who finished on 40 points, to first place.dver
